Gundog Training
Whether your goal is to get your young puppy started on birds and under control or to have a highly finished birddog, we will customize our training program to accommodate your dog's temperament and achieve your goals. The training program is based around building bird drive and doing extensive amounts of teaching and showing the dog what is expected. We have experience training dogs from start to finish. We have been successful with problem dogs and sensitive dogs. Todd has been training gundogs for over 10 years and enjoys watching young dogs develop into reliable, classy hunting partners. Todd started training hunting dogs for Stonehaven Hunting Preserve in 2001. After college he worked his way into guide, trainer, then kennel manager for Stonehaven. He trained labs and pointers for guided pheasants hunts at Stonehaven. Over the years he has demonstrated his dogs for groups and youth events sponsored by Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and the Iowa DNR. Currently, Todd is an active member of the Mid Iowa Retriever Club serving on the Hunt Test Committee. He has trained retrievers to the AKC Master Hunter level and pointing dogs to "wing, shot, and fall". We are fortunate to have access to several hundred acres of prime training grounds. We are hunters at heart, that's what drives this passion. If we get a day off in the fall, you will find us in the field pursuing our dream.

Obedience Training
Do you have issues with your dog jumping on people, running off, taking food from the table? Our basic obedience training program can help address many of these issues. We focus on teaching heel, sit, come, and down(lay down). At the end of the program the dog will be obedient on and off leash. Typically this is a 4 to 6 week program. We only accept sporting/working breeds.

Requirements
- All dogs entering the kennel are required to be current on the following vaccines: DHLPP (Distemper combination), Rabies, and Bordatella (Canine Cough)
- We do suggest that all dogs are vaccinated for Lyme's Disease
- We require that all dogs be on a monthly deworming medication (i.e. Heartgard, Sentinel, Iverheart Max) and a flea/tick preventative (Frontline, K9 Advantix) . If the owner does not supply these, we will administer them at the first of each month at an additional fee.
